Upcoming games and Rule Announcements

A few things to mention about this upcoming week. We will talk about this before both puck drops on Sunday.

Concerns about the House League
The abuse of the officials, and each other, in this league has now reached a point where it needs to be addressed. The lack of respect certain players show to the officials is harmful to this league and I will no longer risk losing those who understand and share the love of hockey to those who feel foul language and abuse is more fun than just playing some recreational hockey. Let me reiterate that this is RECREATION league hockey. This is not a pro team, a minor team, or State Wars. This is a local league where people can just play some puck and have a good time. It is sad to me that players are ruining this with an overly competitive attitude and inability to show maturity. Please take the time to read the new rules below, that may I add, will be STRICTLY ENFORCED.

* * * NEW LEAGUE RULES * * *

If a player commits 3 penalties during a game they are ejected from the game.

Prolonged abuse of a referee or player/s will result in one game suspension or more per the decision of the game officials and league coordinator.

Any flagrant cussing or foul language used during a game may result in a penalty. Inappropriate outbursts or "throwing a fit" could result in one game suspension or more per the decision of the officials and league coordinator. (There will be warnings issued first.)

**After 3 suspensions you will be kicked out of the remainder of the season with no refund.**

If you don't pay (or make your determined payments) you will not play.

Respect the officials and other players. Lets all work together! Hockey is for everyone!

Thank you everyone for playing lets keep things rolling!
Any questions please ask.

Championship game and 2013 Fall Season

Congratulations to Downtown Salon for their win over Lou's Detail to win the 2013 Summer Season! The championship game was played very intensely from the start with a lot of physical play. The game got pretty heated and the intensity ramped up in the second period. The referees, Nick Vizzone and Mike McAlexander did a great job keeping the two teams in check. Unfortunately, they had to call the game probably a bit tighter than they normally would but for the most part let the players play. Lou's Detail put up a great fight but were outmatched by the overall skill and teamwork from Downtown Salon. Once again, congratulations to Downtown Salon for winning the championship game. Thank you to everyone who participated and gave their time to the league the season. Special thanks to Tony Cland and Nicole Vizzone for helping stat/timekeep. Also special thanks to those that refereed this go around, Nick Vizzone, Mike McAlexander, Reed Conrad, Louis DeSimini. Thanks to all those who helped and I did not mention specifically by name, you make the league happen.
